Learning Nurture Through Nature

"My First Plant” is a three month planting adventure to guide kids and their caregivers through the basics of houseplant care.

Houseplants are living creatures, and taking care of them is an important lesson in cultivating empathy. Horti is reframing plant care outside of  throwaway culture with a kid-focused kit that helps parents nurture a love for nature within their children that will stay with them, from their first steps all the way to adulthood.

The three-month subscription is designed to increase in skill-level as the months progress. The subscription kit includes:

Month 1 – Get Dirty: The first month teaches the basics of repotting! Kits include a non-toxic plant, a 4" hand painted pot, soil disc and instructions on how to repot the plant and start integrating care for it into the child’s daily routine.

Month 2 – Make It Rain: The second month teaches the basics of watering to sustain life. Kits include a cute chameleon watering can, peat pot and seeds, a soil disc and relevant instructions.

Month 3 – Create More: The third month teaches the art of propagation. Kits include a 4" hand painted pot to transfer your seedlings from the previous month, a non-toxic plant, a propagation tube and instructions on how to create new plant life.

Warning: Adult supervision is required. Suitable for ages 3+

We have crosschecked each plant species with ASCPA's library of non-toxic plants, and none of them should cause any harm if ingested.
